Injured Boise Police officer to take on Table Rock in LIMBitless Challenge
Injured Boise Police Cpl. Kevin Holtry and members of his SWAT team will ascend Table Rock in Boise for the LIMBitless Challenge in June, LIMBitless Founder and Executive Director Ronald Kern announced.
The Table Rock Ascent drew in 17 teams last year. This year’s challenge is at 9 a.m. June 3.
“It’s hard to put in words what it felt like seeing participants in wheelchairs, those missing arms or legs, and other adaptations, reach the top,” Kern said in a press release. “It truly is an experience that anyone involved will not soon forget.”
Holtry was shot several times during a standoff in November, causing paralysis below his waist and the amputation of his left leg.
“Having Kevin and his co-workers attend is going to wonderful,” Kern stated. “He’s become an inspiration to so many people, and having him make the climb will be appreciated by everyone, especially those facing the same challenges he is.”
